Description 

Brightwell Aquatics MicroBacter Start XLM is a professional-grade, super-concentrated live bacteria suspension designed for marine and brackish aquariums. Ideal for new tank setups, this 15X formula rapidly jumpstarts the nitrogen cycle by quickly reducing ammonia and nitrite through natural biological processes. Whether you're cycling a tank, recovering from a filtration crash, or introducing new livestock, MicroBacter Start XLM helps establish a strong and stable biofilter in as little as 7 days under optimal conditions.

This product contains highly selective strains of live nitrifying organisms and specialized enzymes that target nitrogen-based waste. It is especially beneficial in high-bio-load systems, aquariums undergoing maintenance, or during emergency ammonia spikes. MicroBacter Start XLM also helps avoid common pitfalls like “New Tank Syndrome” by establishing the right biological foundation from day one.|

Unlike other products, it is designed to work alongside Brightwell Erase-Cl for ammonia detoxification, and pairs well with QuikCycl for fishless cycling. For ongoing stability, users can transition to MicroBacter Clean or MicroBacter7 after initial cycling. Use MicroBacter Start XLM and see clearer water, healthier fish, and a faster, stronger biofilter.

Directions  

1. Before use, detoxify tap water with Brightwell Erase-Cl to remove chlorine and chloramine.

2. Shake bottle well before each use.

3. To start a new tank, add 30 ml per 25 gallons of aquarium water.

4. Add hardy fish, and turn off UV, ozone, skimmer, and remove filter socks.

5. Test ammonia and nitrite daily. If either is above 0.2 ppm, dose 10 ml per 25 gallons again.

6. Tank is cycled when ammonia and nitrite are zero and nitrate is above 0.25 ppm.

7. After deep cleaning, dose 10–30 ml per 25 gallons based on biofilter impact.

8. After medications or emergencies, use Erase-Cl daily and add 30+ ml per 25 gallons.

9. For fishless cycling, use with MicroBacter QuikCycl. Dose both per label instructions.

10. After cycling, switch to MicroBacter Clean to support long-term aquarium stability.
