Description
Brightwell Aquatics Phosphat-E is a highly concentrated liquid solution that removes reactive phosphate from marine and reef aquariums by converting it into an inert particulate form. This compound can then be removed through mechanical filtration or protein skimming, helping to maintain low nutrient levels and prevent imbalances that can affect water clarity or aquarium health.
Excess phosphate is a common issue in aquariums with heavy feeding or high bioloads. While some phosphate is necessary, levels above 0.05 ppm can impact the appearance and stability of reef tanks. Phosphat-E provides a fast and effective solution by instantly binding phosphate and making it unavailable for biological uptake.
Phosphat-E is suitable for use as-needed or continuously and is safe for use with fish, corals, and other reef inhabitants when dosed properly. Because it works by forming a solid particulate, it’s important to dose near mechanical filters or skimmer intakes to ensure efficient removal.
This product is especially helpful during nutrient spikes or when dealing with excess dissolved organic material. It works well as part of a complete nutrient management plan that includes routine water changes, balanced feeding, and macroalgae or skimmer use. Always monitor phosphate levels and reduce dosage if sensitive corals show signs of stress from rapid nutrient reduction.
Directions
Basic Use:
1. Test phosphate concentration before dosing.
2. Add up to 2.5 ml per 20 gallons of aquarium water daily.
3. Dose near filter or skimmer intake.
4. This will remove 0.5 ppm phosphate.
5. Dose weekly to maintain low phosphate.
Advanced Use:
6. Each 0.5 ml treats 4 gallons at 0.5 ppm phosphate.
7. Avoid exceeding 0.5 ml per 4 gallons per day.
8. Add near mechanical filter or skimmer.
9. If water becomes cloudy, it's temporary.
10. Reduce dosage by 50% if corals rea
